TYPE OF TOPOLOGY:
- Mesh topology:The mesh network is self-healing, in that if any disruption occurs (such as a device failing or experiencing interference), data is automatically re-routed. The built-in redundancy of having multiple pathways available helps to make the mesh network both robust and reliable. The network is also self-forming, in that it recognizes and adds new devices as it discovers them. That means that you can extend the size of the network and eliminate weak signals and dead zones simply by adding new devices.
- Tree topology:The tree network topology uses two or more star networks connected together. The central computers of the star networks are connected to a main bus. Thus, a tree network is a bus network of star networks.A tree topology combines characteristics of linear bus and star topologies. It consists of groups of star-configured workstations connected to a linear bus backbone cable (See fig. 4). Tree topologies allow for the expansion of an existing network, and enable schools to configure a network to meet their needs.
